Autumn Migration Walk

October 24, 2006

8:00 AM

A beautiful bright sunny day, coupled with a Northwest wind, brought several birds to the park. Yellow-rumped Warblers and Phoebes are still in abundance. Many sparrows have also come in, mostly Song and White-throats. Later in the afternoon many hawks were over the landfill. I spotted a few Northern Harriers, Red Tailed Hawks, Coopers and Sharp-shinned.  Attendance was poor for the walk, so I stayed for a short time. Had I remained longer, most likely there were many more species to be found
